  • Wimborne Folk Festival - Founded in 1980 and held in the shadow of the gracious 12th century Minster Church of St Cuthburga, this annual event of Traditional Folk Dance and Song has become a major event.

  • Great Dorset Steam Fair - is widely recognised as the leading event of its type in the UK and, indeed, in Europe. It is held on a mammoth 600 acre site at South Down, Tarrant Hinton, near Blandford Forum in Dorset UK and is regularly attended by over 200,000 visitors from both the UK and abroad.

  • Dorset Food Week - This annual week long event includes lots of activities and events for everyone including picnics, walks and talks, markets, exhibitions and, of course, plenty of local food! Try eating at a restaurant serving local food, come along to a market and get your own produce or visit a farm and learn where it all comes from.

  • Moors Valley Country Park - covers 750 acres in the valley of the Moors River. At the heart of the park is the Visitor Centre. An Adventure Play Area for older children and a special Castle and Sand Area for toddlers. The picturesque Moors Lake alongside which runs the narrow-gauge steam railway that will take you on a mile long journey through the park. An 18-hole golf course, meadows, small woodlands and the Crane Lake complete the Park area. There is the Play Trail with its 8 wooden play structures including the 'Giant Ants' Nest', 'Snakes and Ladders' and the 'Spiders Web'. There is also the opportunity to walk on the Tree Top Trail – a 200 metre wooden walkway through the tops of the trees. For the more adventurous there is the Go Ape! high wire adventure course. Throughout Moors Valley there are miles of footpaths to enjoy including waymarked walks and cycle trails – cycle hire is available.

  • Walford Mill Craft Centre - a craft centre with exhibition gallery, craftshop, workshops, craftschool and restaurant promoting contemporary British crafts.

  • Dorset & The New Forest - Southern England's secret treasure - whilst visiting our region, discover 150km of breathtaking coastline - most of which comprises the Jurassic Coast, England's only UNESCO natural World Heritage Site - , the ancient hunting ground of the National Park of The New Forest, and some of the country's finest rural countryside, a large part of which is officially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
